D Evan Surfboards was founded in 2010 by Douglas Evan Weiss.
After apprenticing with Jeff Alexander of Alexander Surfboards in Bali, Indonesia, I began shaping surfboards for myself and then for friends and customers.
Seasonally moving between Indonesia and Costa Rica I cultÃvated a style and clientele that suited the local waves, and beyond.
While remaining dedicated to a strictly hand shaping process, D Evan Surfboards continues to make custom and stock surfboards for customers and friends in a traditional manner that recognizes the surfboard maker as craftsman and artist.
Located in Marbella, Costa Rica, the retail shop, shaping room and glass shop supports an intimate crafting process that produces highly functional art work, while using the highest quality materials imported from the USA and beyond.
